Grace Bentley
Fine Artist

Hello
My name is Grace Bentley, I was born in the south east of England in the year 2000. I attended the University of East London where I studied Fine Art for three years.
I am now in my fourth year of living abroad in South Korea, and these days I am working as a mural painter for a café in the town of Tongyeong.
My work
I have always been interested in the combination of mixed media in my work, whether that be with the materials or the theme themselves. I like to combine whimsy and humour with something beautiful and serene. I feel as if this is the true feeling of life and I want to show it through my work.
Previously in my university years I combined fear with colours and delicate brush strokes. Then when COVID-19 hit, I combined panic and mania with humour. As well, in my final year of university I combined my Ego with dirtiness.
For the past three years or so I took a big break from Art, deciding instead to grow as a person and push myself to go out into the world. From my time in Korea I have grown so much, and now it finally feels time to start my artistic journey again.
These days I am painting murals inspired by Van Gogh for a café in a small town in the south part of South Korea. As well as painting murals i have been making lanterns, sowing fabrics and doing clay sculptures.
I can say, it feels good to finally return to what i love most.
