Time to Stay Home.

Updated: May 4, 2020

So…A lot has happened in the last few weeks…

Corona has become a major threat to the UK with cases rising with each day that passes. As a result, the Prime Minister has promoted a lockdown of the UK for 3 weeks. This means, no unnecessary travel, restaurants and shops to be closed and warnings to stay at home in attempts to not spread the virus to vulnerable people.

For myself, that means moving back home to Bexhill-on-sea to be with my family. I will be continuing to work from home, though I will not be able to produce any large-scale paintings as all my equipment is in London in my studio. This also means that all galleries and exhibitions have been cancelled until there is no longer a threat from COVID-19.

However, my family and I are all still making sure to work each day from home. I will take this time to explore my theme on a smaller scale. I plan on looking into portraits and small watercolor paintings. These painting will revolve around the current state of the world and how we are all coping with it. I think I will focus on the happier and funnier sides of this age, which links into my theme quite nicely. I want to show the young people’s reactions to the state of the world right now. Maybe I will paint a screenshot of a Skype call with my friends, or maybe a scene where my mother is participating in a live choir practice, set up from this quarantine.

I will continue to keep my blog up to date with these paintings as they come out. Whoever is reading, I’m hoping you and your family are safe and healthy in this scary time.
